Ruben’s vision and expertise brings together more than three decades of pattern experience, and Ruben’s goal is ultimately to create ‘a perfect fit’. He achieves this by working with Gerber CAD / Grafis CAD and Clo-3d software.

Ruben specializes in Menswear and he knows first hand that if it doesn’t fit well, it won’t be worn … His experience of working in all types of Menswear ranges from Casualwear to Formalwear, and across all product categories from Trousers, Shirts, Suits, Jackets, Coats, and more.
grading
Ruben is highly skilled at creating all sizes from an initial base size in order to best achieve the right fit to match the design, this is where the challenge lies. For both fashion and professional wear his specialism as a result of tried-and-tested methodology has achieved exceptional results. Cut and cup grading are also part of his repertoire along with his loves to grade children’s patterns.
3D
3D provides a reliable alternative to large numbers of prototypes by tackling fit and design issues at the very early stages. Currently the power of 3D is in full development in relation to clothing and it’s production and the potential is developing at great speed. 3D offers the customer the chance to view and assess your first garment on an Avatar. After you get used to the modern process it may well be that you won’t want to use anything else!
denim
Denim is the ‘must have’ fashion wardrobe strictly bound by the cult laws of yesteryear combined with a modern perspective. Whether it is tough raw denim jeans with ‘hidden rivets’ in a heavy ‘selvedge’ or the skinny fit in hyperstretch, depending on your requirements a different pattern can be developed for both.

Coupeur.nl was founded by Ruben Donker. After Ruben’s studies in Germany in 1986, where he learnt the Runschau Schnitt system and from experience of decades of work as a pattern maker, the step to set up his own company in 2003 proved to be a sensible choice. Ruben’s passion for the technical aspect of fashion alongside the design of clothing is the driving force and has led to many satisfied customers.
